My computer seems to be working again now, after refusing to reproduce the problem for the technician. My mother claims that Pixel was scared into shaping up by the thought of being sent away from home for a week to a service center; the service technician agrees with her.

And I discovered Pixel is a boy. (Evidently Applecare technicians have a way of determining a Powerbook's 'sex' by the serial number. So when I was in there, she takes the Powerbook from me and asks, 'What's this one's name?' 'Pixel.' 'Is Pixel a boy or a girl?' 'I... er... have no idea.' 'Let's take a look... ah, okay, you've got a boy here!')

The car is also fixed, again free of charge -- yay warranties -- and working fine. They even cleaned Skuld and left her sparkly-shiny and vacuumed the interior. That made me happy. I wrote the beginning of another story while I was stuck waiting at the service center.

I did get to the local writing critique group I joined, and enjoyed it. Got a little bit of feedback, and am hoping for some more detailed feedback from the folks who took copies of the story home.

Did not, alas, manage to get tickets to the Seattle sneak showing of Serenity despite some time on the phone. I was hoping that would be the karmic balance for my really crappy past few days!

Ah, well, perhaps I shall camp outside the theater next week and look pathetic until someone takes pity and sells me a ticket... ;)

LOL. Great name for it then.
and that is SUCH a sexy colour. I haven't seen teh Bugs in that colour yet. Verra nice indeedy.
It was a limited edition color. They have one limited edition color per year, and do like 2500 cars with that. A limited edition Beetle comes with all the optional extras thrown in, too, if you can find one. (The highest-end sound system, real leather seats, etc.)

In 2002, the limited edition was 'Riveria Blue Pearl,' which is that teal-blue iridescent color. (It was also the 2001 limited edition color for the Jetta.) I saw a limited edition one at one dealer, but the dealer was not very nice or accomodating. I went to another dealer, loved working with them (I still drive around the lake to take my car there for service), and when I was ready to buy and they asked me what color, I wanted the limited edition. They hadn't even SEEN one of the 2002 limited editions at the dealer there yet.

But the salesguy tracked one down and got it for me. When it arrived, the whole sales staff came out to see it 'cause they were curious about the color. The folks at that dealer were really, really cool. If I ever buy another new car, I'm totally going back to them. :)
Definite coolness on the part of the dealership. :)

I love the new buggies. I really really wanted one, until the day my parents, and myself went shopping with a friend in hers. We got all excited buying some stackable drawers for the kitchen.. and then stopped and had hysterical laughing fits as we tried to fit them in the car. I swear we were like those circus clowns in the teeny tiny car! ROFLMAO. It was one unfomcortable ride home. Great for cruising in around town or up the freeway, oh so sexy to look at.. but not so good for carting things around in! ;)
