The reading and writing both went slowly because of the atmosphere; some of the music was excellent, some was slightly painful, but all of it was heartful. From when everyone in the room tried to improvise a rendition of John Lennon's 'Imagine,' to when one guy got up with a teensy electronic keyboard and sang a wonderful comedic song called 'I'll be Home For Halloween,' to when someone sang Radiohead's 'Creep' in honor of George W. Bush and the audience began impromptu harmonizing along with comments in response to lines (o/` I don't know why I'm here... o/` "...neither do we..."), it was an interesting night.
Oh, and the grand plan a few of the musicians put forward was amusing too; we're going to invade Canada, conquer, but then surrender and leave /them/ in charge of the combined nation. (This was stated as a threat to the Canadian musicians down visiting.)
Dad and I are thinking we'll be trying to make Victory Music more often, because we both enjoyed it greatly.
