I woke up late, and could barely drag myself out of bed. Managed to get a quick breakfast and get off to work... but while I'm walking to the bus, I get a call from my mother. My great-aunt Nancy just died, and the memorial is at the end of the month or beginning of next...we're not sure yet. While I stop walking to listen in shock, I miss the bus... so I take one later. While I wait, I try to price plane tickets and whatnot, to get back to Philadelphia for the memorial.
I get to work with about a minute to spare before a meeting. I get into the meeting, and find out that our funding came through but late, so we won't have money until November that we expected this month. Whee, contractors being told to take a week or two off, thus causing more shifts in schedules and specifications... the first stages of turning into a BYOP (Bring Your Own Pens) office.
I still like the work I'm doing, I still like my coworkers, and I still like our team ethic. I just wish politics would get out of the way!
On the plus side, I did just get my paycheck for the past two weeks, so I have money.
I'm just emotionally and physically exhausted, and it's still only 10:30!
