Anyway. Lots of friends who I don't see too often, a fair chunk of the rest of the FiranMUX wizcorps, and we hung around Steph and Adam's house Sunday morning before people left and Friday evening when people all arrived. Saturday, we spent at the Maryland RenFaire.
Melissa had brought lots of spare garb for everyone, so I ended up in peasant-girl best-fair-day garb. A red skirt, a white blousy shirt that was low cut, and a corset/girdle thing that made me appear to have more cleavage than normal. My hair was put into a little braided crown by my friend Theo, and I even wore earrings and got flowers put in my hair.
Of course, to counter all this, I had to walk along a number of the benches and little garden/fountain edges balance-beam style. You can put the tomboy in a dress, but you can't completely suppress her! I was told it was oddly cute behavior, though.
It was a lot of fun, though I am told I got tipsy and fell asleep against Mike on the couch at one point. Plus, we had a bit of fun playing cards and discussing evil plots and twists and turns to enact on Firan... though we didn't do much of the latter, since there were plenty of things starting to go on already and we didn't need to contrive new ways to stir up activity!
Then after I got back, I got to meet Erin, another friend from Firan who was visiting from out-of-town. We got to walk around the waterfront and talk about Firan and anime and the world in general, which was fun. I really enjoyed meeting her in person for the first time.
In all, a great weekend!
